Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 12, 2026
Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how PDFtoDoc handles information when you use our website, sign in, upload a PDF, create a conversion, download a result, or use the same account through supported PDFtoDoc applications. It applies only to PDFtoDoc services and not to third-party websites or services that have their own policies.
Information we collect
When you sign in with Google, we may receive account information made available by the sign-in service, such as your account identifier, name, email address, and profile image. We also maintain service information associated with your account, including quota, subscription status when applicable, conversion format, task status, file name, timestamps, and result availability.
When you use the website, our systems and service providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location, session activity, and diagnostic or security logs.
Uploaded files and conversion results
We process the PDF files you choose to upload and the Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files created from them solely to provide the requested conversion, make the result available to you, troubleshoot failures, enforce service limits, and protect the service. You must not upload a file unless you are authorized to process its contents.
A file may contain personal, confidential, copyrighted, or other sensitive information. Please avoid uploading highly sensitive material unless it is necessary and you understand the risks of transmitting it through an online service.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate users, provide and improve conversions, synchronize quota and history across devices, deliver downloads, respond to support requests, prevent fraud or abuse, investigate errors, maintain security, understand service performance, comply with law, and enforce our Terms of Service. We do not use uploaded document content to advertise to you.
Cookies and analytics
PDFtoDoc uses a secure HttpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in. The current web session cookie can remain valid for up to seven days unless you sign out or it is otherwise invalidated. PDF contents are not stored inside cookies.
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate website usage. Depending on browser settings and applicable configuration, Analytics may process session statistics, approximate location, browser and device information, and a first-party identifier such as the _ga cookie. You can limit cookies through your browser settings, although blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in or account features from working.
Legal bases
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to perform our agreement with you and provide the service; for legitimate interests such as security, fraud prevention, diagnostics, and service improvement; with consent where consent is requested; and to comply with legal obligations or protect legal rights. The applicable basis depends on the information and context.
Service providers and disclosures
We may share information with vendors that help us provide hosting, file conversion, storage, authentication, analytics, security, and technical support. Google provides sign-in and analytics services. These providers may process information under their own terms and privacy policies and, where applicable, on our instructions.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process, protect users or the public, investigate abuse, enforce our agreements, or support a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of service assets. We do not sell uploaded document content.
Data retention and deletion
Files, conversion results, task records, account records, security logs, and analytics data may have different retention periods. Uploaded files and generated results are retained only for the period configured by the conversion service and may become unavailable after their stated expiration. Task history may remain in your account until you delete it or until it expires under service rules.
When information is deleted, limited copies may remain temporarily in backups, security records, or legal records where retention is necessary. We may retain information longer when required for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, compliance, or the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect accounts, transmissions, and stored information. These measures include secure session cookies and server-side authentication checks. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep control of your Google account and sign out on shared devices.
International processing
PDFtoDoc and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Privacy laws may differ across jurisdictions. Where required, appropriate safeguards will be used for covered international transfers.
Your privacy choices and rights
You may review conversion history in your account, delete individual task records where that option is available, sign out, restrict non-essential cookies through your browser, and stop using the service. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection regarding personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Some requests may be limited by identity verification, technical feasibility, legal obligations, security needs, or the rights of others.
Children
PDFtoDoc is not directed to children who are unable to consent to online services under the law where they live. If you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact the site operator so the matter can be reviewed.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service, providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Material changes may be communicated through the service when appropriate.
For privacy questions or requests, contact the PDFtoDoc site operator through the support channel published in the service. Please provide enough information to identify your account and request, but do not send sensitive document contents in an initial support message.
